Dr. Sonia

Dr. Sonia Soltana was born in Paris and holds a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, and a PhD in Fine Arts from Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. She is also a BC-certified teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from UBC. Currently, she works as a French Immersion teacher in the New Westminster School District.

With a strong background in visual arts, Dr. Sonia has taught at various colleges in Paris, working with students from diverse backgrounds and age groups. She incorporates a range of engaging teaching methods, including rituals, nursery rhymes, phonology, mathematics, and album reading, as well as leading virtual tours of museums and monuments. She is well-versed in Parisian cultural institutions, educational websites, and resources, and has extensive experience preparing students for the TEF Canada (Test d’Évaluation de Français).

As an expert in art and education with academic training from Sorbonne University and UBC, Dr. Sonia is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students. She brings a unique blend of academic expertise and practical teaching experience and has a deep understanding of French and Canadian university expectations. She specializes in guiding students toward success in exams such as DELF, AP French, and Éppelle-moi Canada (French dictation competition), as well as French public speaking competitions, helping them reach their full potential in language proficiency and academic pursuits.
